The dog days of summer are usually considered a slow time for news, but Ektron has enjoyed a lot of attention from the media over the past two months.
Part of that is due to our Ektron 8.5 release candidate, which, as I noted last month, has received a great deal of favorable attention in the online press. We’re also pleased to see praise about 8.5 from the people whose opinion matters most to us, our developer community, in both Twitter and email. For example, a “Jay B.” a web director working in higher education, tweeted about a month ago, “ I am in love with the new #ektron 8.5 Framework API. You really love us (developers)!”
Well, yes, we do, Jay, and thanks for the kind words. And just a few days ago, another developer, Stephen H., tweeted to us, “8.5 Search Framework API Works like a charm. Search on taxId, XmlConfigId, SmartformProp and I get paginated results back in under 0.10 sec.”
It’s great to see developers taking the Ektron 8.5 release candidate through its paces and to receive the feedback we’re getting. To read more developer praise on Ektron 8.5, check out our Tumblr blog, and please join in the conversation on Twitter!
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, Ektron has also been popping up all over the press – both virtual and in print. We’re very proud of our Chief Marketing Officer Tom Wentworth’s article in Forbes: “Context Will Drive The Future Of Web Content Management” which was later featured in Yahoo! News. Tom seems to have a knack for writing provoking articles. His article on the Mobile First! philosophy in early August for Mashable, “Why Mobile Design Should Never Be an Afterthought,” has been retweeted over 1,700 times at my last count.
During one busy week, Ektron was named to KMworld’s list of “Trend-Setting Products of 2011,” Ektron was featured in an eContent article on line and (soon) in print: “Content that Listens: Exploiting the Potential of WCM Today. ” And Ektron, partner n-tara Interactive and customer Hunter Fans were featured in Internet Retailer’s September issue: “The Right Fit - Flexibility is a requirement for web retailers and for their content management systems.”
It’s always nice to get press, just as long as they spell the name right, as the saying goes. But, what makes us here at Ektron happier is that the attention we’re seeing from the media is another indicator that they’re hearing our message – and that message resonates with their audiences. Whether through the importance of context to delivering engaging content; the need to consider how that content can be delivered effectively through every on-line channel; or how that content can be personalized for each unique viewer, Ektron’s message is that organizations can fully realize their website’s marketing and revenue-generating potential by using content to engage consumers, drive business outcomes and further revenue growth.
It’s a powerful story, and you’ll be hearing more about how Ektron realizes that story for customers in the coming months. Until next time, enjoy the waning days of summer.
