Digital media’s on the rise in the APAC region

February 7, 2012By Chris Rogers Comments

Here in Ektron’s APAC region, the three biggest initiatives on our plate are as follows: continuing to engage with channel partners, building out some significant new customer sites and rolling out an aggressive new training program.

On the channel side, we’re been doing a lot of work in Australia with our main local implementation partners: Bullseye Limited and MassMedia Studios, a pair of digital agencies in Sydney; BoomWorks, one of our longest-running partners; and an agency based in Brisbane, Limelight Digital. We’ve also been extending the company’s implementations with U.S.-based technology partners such as PR Newswire and Microsoft. We’re also developing some partnerships in Singapore, our biggest APAC market behind Australia, and pursuing relationships in China, Malaysia and Japan.

On the customer side, we recently brought live a pair of websites for large clients in the government and shopping center sectors.

Our training function received a major boost with the build-out of a fully dedicated training center here in Sydney. Not only did we create new space: We purchased all new equipment and hired a new trainer. This effort will help us expand the delivery of training functions throughout APAC, particularly with the developer community.

Overall, business prospects appear bright for our region in 2012. Australia’s economy is still strong, and we’re seeing more and more interest in digital media. As long as we continue to develop our partner channel, we’re confident we’ll emerge with a decent piece of the pie.
